The club scene was different for everyone involved. I like to think that 1988-94 was a fun time for all and the above vid acts as a snapshot of a carefree time. Faces a wash with deep joy. People either swaying with their hands held up to the lasers or jumping up and down like they are on a pogo stick.

White gloves and Stussy hats all over the place. Girls wearing all in one catsuits and the lads all looking like painters and decorators in their white dungarees. You can't buy memories like that. To anyone who was there, you will know what I am talking about.

the first examples of piano-house made in Europe, dangerously upliftng, supported by very inspired vocals, it still sound as refreshing as the when it was released, in my eyes one of those track that made history!! minta.......

When, at the begin of the nineties, the "samplemania" exploded and a lot of dance act were using (who borrowing, who plainly stealing) from old tracks vocals from the likes of James Brown, Loleatta Holloway and First Choice (To name a few), this Italian band stand out for originality
using the "Ball And Chain" vocals from Janis Joplin on this Euro House track, at the time there were a lot of mixes around, my favourite is always been this one by Milan-born Joe T Vannelli,
where the electronic drums and keyboards melt with an anthemic acoustic piano and a more reserved saxophone: Class!!!!

BLACKBOX - FANTASY

This is such a great tune. Has 4/4 beats but not quite at the tempo of a house track. Nevertheless it's an absolute classic that seems to have been forgotten.

I first heard this in a club called Blueberries Nelson ,a friend ..dj Jacko asked me wot i thought about this choon & i said its foookin shite. I still can remem from this day,, ha ha anyway.. Josh Wink's 'Higher State Of Consciousness' was a strobe classic in 1995 but it took until 1996 for it to become a massive hit record. Its use of 303 made it stand out and stick in your mind. Together - Hardcore Uproar & I Wanna Come

This classic from 1990 still sounds as good as it did then. Some bleepy tunes will certainly be showing signs of age now but this one doesn't which proves that a good record is a good record. Very well put together and such a shame that one of the guys who made this was tragically killed upon its release. Hope he rests in peace and we thank him for his outstanding contribution towards house music. Together-Hardcore Uproar-classic.

The original progressive house anthem! This got a nasty vocal remix some years after it was originally released but this original version is the absolute bizness. Just about everything in here, a bit of piano, a few gorgeous pads, a driving chunky bassline and classic piece of percussion work. One of the best house tunes ever made IMO and I'm not alone on thinking that. A timeless tune which is still played out in clubs to this day!

As you might have guessed by now I do love my piano tracks! This is the sort of tune that will send you through the roof, totally euphoric oldskool house which has been sampled by just about everyone since it was released. A similar version was done by JJ Tribute, it got re-released for '94 and had several hardcore tracks use the main piano break. The version by Liquid Crystal called 'You Got Me' is even better if you like your breakbeat.

This one was one of my personal favourites although ironically I don't know what samples are in this..if any. Anyone who was into old skool back in the 90's will know this as one of the finest.
